Examples of where Energy Eye™ Components
are located in a typical Hotel Guestroom
As you can see from the pictures below the four main components are spread out to different locations in the room. There is typically:
1. A Wireless PIR sensor in the corner of the room. This can also be strategically mounted to minimize aesthetic visibility. Its main purpose is detecting heat motion in the room so verify that there is a human presence inside the room once the entry door has been closed.
2. A Wireless door sensor located by the door, which detects both when a door has been opened or closed. This is the "control" sensor of the room and identifies if the room is a sealed environment or not.
3. The Energy Eye™ Brain will be located close to the heating or cooling equipment, be it a PTAC, mini-split or fancoil unit. This is a receiver to take in the signal inputs from the various other sensors. It also serves as a thermostat measuring the room temperature during setback operation and contains the "smart logic" of the system.
4. The Mini-Powerpack/Relay is located inside of the HVAC compartment. It is hard wired and serves both as a relay to apply or remove power, controlling the HVAC and as a transformer supplying the Energy Eye Brain™ with its 24VAC current.
